About the Artist

Spencer was born and raised in the southern interior of British Columbia. While attending university in Vancouver he took a black and white film photography class which kickstarted his passion for the medium. Like most business graduates, he started guiding at a remote fishing lodge in Haida Gwaii shortly after finishing his degree. Spencer has spent the last five summers on the coast, looking for salmon and taking photos.

His search for remote waves to surf, and rivers to swing a fly through, has taken him to some of the most beautiful places in BC. Documenting his adventures through photography came naturally.

Spencer hopes his photos inspire people to get out and explore our beautiful province, while being mindful of the importance of caring for these delicately balanced environments so future generations can experience the same beauty and adventure.
