About the Artist

No Roads Studio is an accessories and clothing slow-fashion brand based on Vancouver Island, Canada that originated in Prince Rupert, B.C. Each unique piece is hand dyed or hand felted by fibre artist Laurie Gray in her Campbell River Studio.

Since 2015, Laurie has been combining her love of natural fibers and local plant dyes to create wearable art. She is constantly experimenting and finds inspiration in the wild places: mountain tops; small, quiet islands; places you can’t get to by road.

HAND DYED SILK
Creating my hand-dyed eco-printed silk scarves is a slow process involving days. There are many steps involved; each piece takes around a week to complete. Most of the scarves are dyed using local plants that are sustainably harvested in my garden, neighbours’ yard or found in the ditches or forest around my home. Each scarf is a unique one of a kind piece that could never be replicated.

NUNO FELT
Nuno Felt, combines superfine merino wool with silk chiffon. Each piece is individually handmade and hand-dyed. These pieces are unique and beautiful lightweight wearable art pieces.
